Black President and Chief
Executive Officer
The founder of PenValve, Bruce has
been the consummate working business owner. Bruce has
spent over thirty years working directly with customers
to find solutions to the most demanding fluid handling
applications. Bruce graduated from the University of California
at Santa Barbara, with a BSME. He is also an avid and
accomplished golfer and a proud new grandfather.

Mel
Thane
Vice President OEM Sales
With over twenty-three years at Penvalve,
Mel has been instrumental in PenValve’s success
with mechanical contractors and OEM accounts. His knowledge,
professionalism and dedication to customer support has
been a key element in PenValve being among the Silicon
Valley Business Journal’s “Top 100”
largest Private Companies. Mel’s free time will
find him with his family either skiing or bike riding.

Jim
Hale Vice President Operations

Jim joined Peninsula Valve & Fitting
in 2000 after almost twenty years of being a loyal customer
and supporter of PenValve. He has been instrumental in
managing all aspects of our Northern California office
which has allowed us to expand our presence into the Southwest.
Jim coaches baseball and plays golf in his free time.

Chris
Black
Vice President Sales
After graduating from Boston University in 1996, Chris has worked his way up through the ranks of his family’s business. After beginning his career at PenValve in the Southern California office, Chris moved to Northern California to become the Vice President-Sales. He will continue to function as an outside sales engineer covering the San Francisco Peninsula from San Francisco to Sunnyvale. He will also work closely with established and emerging suppliers to ensure a superior product offering and increased business in the San Francisco Bay Area. Free time will find Chris and his young family snowboarding, surfing, or golfing.

Steve
Thane Sales Engineer Northern
California
Since joining PenValve over fourteen
years ago, Steve has concentrated his efforts in providing
excellent sales and service in the South Bay and San Francisco
Peninsula. His loyal customers have helped PenValve become
a frequent entry on the Business Journal’s list
of the 100 Fastest Growing companies. Steve and his family
enjoy snowboarding and surfing in their free time.

Mark Vella
Sales Engineer Northern
California
For over eight years Mark has been instrumental in increasing PenValve’s presence in the East Bay and to the Oregon and Nevada borders. Mark’s product knowledge has allowed the company to service a broad range of customers in a number of growing industries from Semiconductor to Petro Chemical to Instrumentation accounts.

Mark
Ryan Materials Manager
Before joining PenValve four years
ago, Mark had been a customer and supporter of Penvalve
for almost fifteen years. Mark’s experience in warehouse,
purchasing and materials management allowed him to fill
the newly created position of Materials Manager. His responsibilities
include the monitoring of parts in all four branches,
purchasing, and insuring shipments are “on time”
and correct. Mark’s free time will find him on the
golf course.
